International Rowing Challenge 2025

International Rowing Challenge 2025

The inaugural International Rowing Challenge (IRC) delivered elite-level action from start to finish this week in Ypsilanti, Michigan, uniting U19 athletes from the United States, New Zealand, Canada, and Mexico. Contested over 1500 meters and emphasizing small boat proficiency, the IRC not only showcased global up-and-coming talent—but also underscored the reliability and performance of King Racing and WinTech Racing shells across disciplines.

In one of the most thrilling races of the regatta, the USA men’s coxed four surged to gold in a King SE, holding off both fellow Americans and a fast-finishing New Zealand crew—also in a King SE. The top three boats were separated by less than 2 seconds in a high-intensity final that highlighted both raw athleticism and shell responsiveness.

King Podium Highlights:

  • 🥇 Men’s 4+USA – King SE

  • 🥉 Men’s 4+New ZealandKing SE

  • 🥉 Mixed 8+USA – King SE (finished just 2 seconds behind the winning U.S.A crew)

WinTech shells left a powerful mark on the sculling events, especially in the tight, tactical races that define youth international development. From the men’s double sculls to women’s singles and pairs, WinTech boats were at the front of the field in every stroke category.
